The First Conspiracy

Proverbs 8:8 All the words from my mouth are righteous; none of them are deceptive or perverse.

There has been no lack of conspiracy theories during the last few months during these everchanging world events. We have heard everything from the downright absurd to the absolute stupid coming forth from so-called reliable sources. The disturbing trend is the number of conspiracy theories circulating within Christian circles. Isa. 8:11 For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying: 12 Do not call conspiracy all that this people calls conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread.
Saints, we are to be informed in life and bring our concerns to God in prayer but not to take part in the promotion and the reposting on every media platform the fear-filled theories that you have no idea of the source from where they came or the agendas of those who posted them in the first place. This is ignorance gone to seed. It is a form of gossip on a national scale. God does not talk this way. He does not sow fear into the hearts of His people. Prov. 8:8 All the words from my mouth are righteous; none of them are deceptive or perverse.
I can start a conspiracy theory at this very moment - and here it is. This whole pandemic was started by the big plastic companies who were losing market share because all governments were implementing laws to bring in paper bag use only. This must be true because plastic has made such a comeback during this pandemic. Oh please! Stop with all the conspiracy theories. Saints, If the idiot theory I just wrote ever makes its way out there online, I apologize to you in advance for inventing it.
All conspiracy theories are rooted in the very first one that was deceptively pulled off on mankind. We read in the book of Genesis the encounter Eve had with the serpent in the garden of Eden. The Devil sold Eve on the lie that there was a conspiracy going on in heaven to keep her in the dark. Gen. 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
We all know the sad result of Eve believing the hoax Satan used to betray mankind. Like all conspiracy theories, the ones who start them up can say whatever they want without having to prove them with evidence or facts. Satan just brought his contaminated conspiracy to Adam and Eve and they - in effect, just reposted it for all mankind to buy into. We can see this trend written throughout the bible as history went on.
In the book of Numbers, the ten spies started a conspiracy theory that the giants in the land of Canaan could never be beaten. In the book of Esther, Haman creates a conspiracy saying that the king had a certain ethnic group of people in his realm who were not for the king. Est. 3:8 Then Haman approached King Xerxes and said, “There is a certain race of people scattered through all the provinces of your empire who keep themselves separate from everyone else. Their laws are different from those of any other people, and they refuse to obey the laws of the king. So it is not in the king’s interest to let them live. This sure sounds like some of the stuff we are hearing today.
We are not of the spirit of this world. Our walk in the faith is not to promote fear and uncertainty. That is what the world does on a continual basis and that is why they are trapped in the cycle of their fear-filled existence and spoken subterfuge. Prov. 6:2 You have been snared by the words of your mouth trapped by the words from your mouth. We who are in Christ, have a more sure evidentiary word of purity to draw on and live by. Psalm 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.
We don't need to promote the ideas of these pathological fear-mongers who have lost their way in the world of their own making. We are citizens of the kingdom of God, and we are seated in heavenly places. Eph. 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. On that basis of our position in Christ, let us debunk the stupidity and speak of our saviour, who alone, can save all mankind from their fears, superstitions, and sins. All deliverance for all of life is found in Christ. Amen!

My Ugly Self

Proverbs 30:3 I have not mastered human wisdom, nor do I know the Holy One.

Genesis 6:5 The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. This verse makes me feel so sorry for God. My heart aches when I read that the depravity of the human condition can become so corrupt that the only thing coming out of all humanity twenty-four-seven is evil continually. Eph. 4:19 They became callous and gave themselves over to promiscuity for the practice of every kind of impurity with a desire for more and more. No wonder God destroyed the human population with a worldwide flood.
Why are we so conniving and insistent on walking the knife's edge of God's laws? We trade our eternal gifts for ephemeral satisfaction and wonder why there is no sense of fulfilment in life. I had asked God why I kept arguing with Him on a particular thing He was pointing out in my life that He wanted to change. He said, "You have no humility in that area." Ouch! Prov. 30:3 I have not mastered human wisdom, nor do I know the Holy One. Yes, I had to repent of my soulish ugliness and ask for His grace in the area God was working on.
How have we become so crass and vulgar as a so-called civilized society? The events in this first half-year of 2020 have shown us who we really are as a nation and people. Many have lost their sense of awe toward God and traded their humility for pride and arrogance. Slander, judgment, and false accusations have become mainstream in everyday conversations. The lack of humility has caused us to forget that we will be judged with the exact same measuring-stick we use on others. Matt. 7:2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of the people's insistence on living their own selfish lives. The lack of humility was the real sin and guilt of Sodom and Gomorrah that led to their unacceptable lifestyle in God's eyes. Eze 16:49 Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. 50 They were proud and stubborn and did the things that I hate, so I destroyed them, as you well know.
We are who we are within our soul, and who we are will eventually come out. A family member may ask, "What is wrong with uncle Bill these days, he seems so mean and hateful?" The answer is simple. There is nothing wrong with uncle Bill. He has always been that way, but now that he is old, he cannot hide it anymore. We become ugly when we stop living our Christian lives in honest humility. Prov. 22:4 By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.
Whenever great ministers of faith fall into sin and are exposed, whether it is through adultery, embezzlement, or outrageous behavior that brings them down, it is always the fact that they put their humility aside and started believing their own press-releases and became deceived. They started believing they have a special anointing outside of God's grace and became carnally minded causing them to make hubris decisions. They then became the pariahs and a laughing stock in the world. Thank God there is repentance available to them if they wake up to themselves.
Saints, we need to press into the grace that was given to us through Jesus Christ to live and flourish as the Lord's chosen. Without God's grace running through our veins, we cannot live according to God's precepts. It has been proven throughout the history of the human race that man cannot live righteously by using his own will and choices. We need a God-given saviour to help us walk in the righteousness that is accepted by God Himself. Only the work of the cross is the acceptable sacrifice.
The world is in an uproar right now, and we do not have to join in the rampant mayhem. We who are in Christ need to walk in the ordinances and directions that the Holy Spirit is leading us toward. With humility in our hearts and genuine awe for God, we should bring the needs of this fractured world to Him in prayer and remain strong in the faith Christ gave us through His sacrifice. Of ourselves, we can do nothing, but in Christ, all things are possible.
Therefore, as we see the mess the world is in let us look at the beauty and power of the Lord's holiness that lives within our soul. After all, God did give us life and beauty for our ashes. Because of that life, we can live according to what God has purposed within us. Through humility and His grace, put aside the ugliness of heart, and become the blessing of the Lord. Amen!

Outbreak Or Holy Breakthrough

Proverbs 11:8 The righteous person is rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead.

2 Samuel 5:20 So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. “The LORD did it!” David exclaimed. “He burst through my enemies like a raging flood!” So he named that place Baal-perazim (which means “the Lord who breaks through”).
To be able to breakthrough and overcome the tsunami of fear that has captured the hearts of humanity during this world pandemic, will take more than a few mantras of positive thinking. It is going to take our full trust in the Lord God who has given us His spirit of love, power, and a sound mind. 2 Tim. 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. It will take genuine faith to rise above the overabundant fear that is promoted twenty-four-seven. The good news is that even mustard seed faith in Christ will work, and will be more helpful than all the positive slogans the world can muster up.
Many people are wholeheartedly focused on the viral outbreak, the jobs that will be lost, and the worldwide protests resulting in anxiety - which is caused by the fear of not knowing what the future will bring. These poor frightened people have put the confidence and trust of their future lives into government agencies who have been scrambling for a semblance of order, but, have left many in hopeless despair. The new buzz word for this current depression is called Quarantine Fatigue.
The city of Samaria was under siege by the Syrians causing the citizens to be in thorough lockdown and quarantined so to speak. A great famine was taking place at the same time and had caused the people of Samaria to end up in a state of emaciated despair. The hunger had caused two women to take part in an act of cannibalism. 2 Kings 6:28 Then the king asked her, “What’s the matter? ” She said, “This woman said to me, ‘Give up your son, and we will eat him today. Then we will eat my son tomorrow.’ 29 “So we boiled my son and ate him, and I said to her the next day, ‘Give up your son, and we will eat him,’ but she has hidden her son.” Talk about quarantine fatigue gone too far. What the people needed was a God-given breakthrough.
The Prophet Elisha was called upon for a word of direction from God. This was the word that came forth. 2 Kings 7:1 Elisha replied, “Hear the word of the LORD! This is what the LORD says: ‘About this time tomorrow at Samaria’s gate, six quarts of fine flour will sell for a half-ounce of silver and twelve quarts of barley will sell for a half-ounce of silver.’ ” As found in 2 Kings 7:16, the story goes on to record that Elisha's word had come trueIn one day, from a long-lasting outbreak of disease, hunger, and deprivation caused by war and famine, the word of God had turned the catastrophe into a breakthrough of plenty for all to eat and rebuild their lives on.
When man tries to fix an overwhelming problem without God or righteous leadership guiding them, the results can be as horrifying as the act of cannibalism. Jud. 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes. We can see this same pathetic grappling for answers throughout the world right now. Humanity is feeding on itself and is truly lost for righteous answers. The cracks in the world system are revealing the terrible conditions people's souls are in and therefore, anything goes.
Where is our focus? Has our focus now turned to the media's prognostications of a second and third wave of the virus killing everyone in sight? Of course, this is what the self-proclaimed experts are now saying. We have sure sullied the word 'expert' and made it of none effect during these last few months of the pandemic. How much more of this fear-based diet will people keep eating before they call upon God for a real breakthrough? Prov. 11:8 The righteous person is rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead.
We cannot serve two masters. We cannot serve fear and God at the same time. We can, however, bring our fears to God so that He may destroy the spirit of fear through our faith in Him. Heb. 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. As we keep the Lord Jesus on the throne of our heart we make it difficult for fear to dethrone Him. Fear, virus, and anxiety are only names, and those names must bow their knee to the name of Jesus. Phil. 2:10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
We actually have the choice to focus on the viral outbreak, the protests, or put our hope and faith in the holy breakthrough that God has for those who have called upon His name. When we keep our eye on the solution that God has for us, there will be no room for any kind of fatigue to take root in our hearts. When the enemy comes at us with fear and threats of destruction, we can count on the Lord to rise up against the enemy on our behalf. Isa. 59:19b When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Stay strong Saints and focus on our holy breakthrough.

Déjà Vu

Proverbs 31:8 Speak up for those who have no voice, for the justice of all who are dispossessed.

I have been here before. When I was a kid, in the late 1960's I spent my summers with relatives in Niagara Falls, New York. I got to witness some of the events that were unfolding in July of 1967. The race riots as they were known, were bringing changes to a society that held their breath as Detroit was on fire, (or as Gordon Lightfoot put it "Motor city burning,") plus, there were other cities that were being damaged and looted across the US as we have seen recently. I was fourteen years old, so my impressions were based on what I was told by the adults in my life and the controlling media stations at the time. But nonetheless, I have seen this played out before and it feels like déjà vu.
Are we here again because we did not speak up for those who have no voice? Prov. 31:8 Speak up for those who have no voice, for the justice of all who are dispossessed. The call for equality has been going on from the beginning of time. The human struggle has never stopped and never will until we come into unity with God who created all of us to be fulfilled in Him and then with each other. The desire of God's heart is to have all nations, races, and colour come and worship Him in one accord. Rev.15:4 Lord, who will not fear and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship before you because your righteous acts have been revealed.
Regardless of who you voted for, we need to pray for our country Canada, the United States, plus the leaders of our nations. There is a civil war going on right now and the first casualty of war is always the truth. We have no choice but to bring our prayers for these deep and complicated grievances being expressed to God because we can easily pray with a personal bias that is slanted rather than pray the will of God. God wants all nations to be part of the kingdom of God and wants us who are in Christ to be the hand extended toward all nations. Psalm 86:9 You created each nation, and they will all bow down to worship and honor you.
We have to realize that the enemy of our soul is the one who has come to rob, kill, and destroy anything that will express the love of God toward each other. Rodney King asked, "Can't we just all get along?" My observation of this question is, "Only if we want to." Again, déjà vu, as we have been here before. Relationship and giving honour to my neighbour is a choice of the heart and will. Holiness and righteousness cannot be legislated by law or decree. It is a choice of the soul after Christ has given us life through His blood. Yes, using our human decency can do a lot to extend grace to anyone we meet. However, it will take the love of God within our soul to truly mean it over the long term.
The call upon all of us who know the Lord is to pray that God's will be done and that we all have the grace to submit to God's plan for all nations to come to God the Father. We are either part of God's solution or we are the problem that continues to bring hostility within the world. The word says that one of the six things the Lord hates is the act of causing division. Prov. 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him. 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. We have been called to be ministers of peace and with God's help, we will do it.
The similarities of the end of the 1960s and today are uncanny. There was a flu pandemic in 1968 and 1969 called the H3N2 strain of the Hong Kong flu that killed about four million people worldwide. Also, in 1969, the Apollo 11 spaceflight and the first man to walk on the moon were seen from our living rooms around the world. Again, I was in Niagara Falls, New York that July. At this time we happen to be going through a worldwide pandemic and the recent talk about returning to the moon is the goal of space agencies around the world. Déjà vu all over again.
I'm not sure if history repeats itself, but what I do know is that God is in control. We have to walk by faith within the Lord's covenant He has given us so that we can be at peace and walk humbly with our God during these times of chaotic global change. Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Focus on the solution who is Jesus, our Lord. Amen!
